A-65- years old male in possession of 1,000 ammunition has been arrested by the police attached to the Anambra State Police Command in Nkpor community.
The arrest was confirmed by the Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer SP Tochukwu Ikenga in a statement.
According to the statement, “The Anambra State Police Operatives attached to Rapid Response Squad Akwuzu acting on credible information on 22nd August, 2025 arrest one Akpan Godwin ‘m’, aged 65 years, in possession of 1,100 rounds of live ammunition in Nkpor, Onitsha,
“During interrogation, the suspect confessed to being involved in the illegal sale of ammunition and mentioned other individuals connected to the illicit trade.
“Meanwhile the Operatives have stepped up the investigation/ manhunt to uncover and apprehend all accomplices.
“Further developments will be communicated, please.” He revealed.
